Maternity session with Sarah & Josh

On New Year's Day, Sarah and Josh came over to do a maternity session maybe only 12 hours after leaving from the New Year's Eve party the night before. We all may have been a little sleepy still, but I don't think you can tell. This shoot was a great deal of fun and they were willing to do just about anything! I couldn't have asked for better subjects. Just look at how pretty and colourful they are! Looking through all the photos, and just seeing how sweet they are together, I know they will be fabulous parents to this lucky little boy! Christmas Eve with Lisa & Anthony - Stony Plain wedding

This past Monday (Christmas Eve, to be exact) December 24th, Amy and I had the pleasure to photograph the marriage of Lisa and Anthony in a cool little old church in Stony Plain, AB followed by a beautiful reception at Lisa's mother's home. The weather was a little odd that day and shortly before the ceremony began a crazy strong wind picked up and made it a little difficult to do any photos outside.

Downtown with the Franco family

Yesterday (Dec 9), I spent sometime downtown photographing the Francos and their extended family in their cute matching scarves. We actually started off in the lobby where I work during the week (It was a bit of a pain trying to remove the Meloche Monnex and TD Insurance logos from the background of the pictures) because the tree was just fabulous. We moved out into Churchill Square and ventured into City Hall to snap a few more photos. The weather had finally warmed up a bit, but I think we all had pretty rosy cheeks by the end of it... Owen turns 2 at Chuck E Cheese (pure insanity)

On November 10th, I spent the afternoon at Chuck E Cheese celebrating Owen's 2nd birthday. He's lucky he's such an adorable child, because I nearly had a breakdown in that place and was surprised that I managed to get any good photos at all. That was the first, and last, time I have ever gone to such an establishment. Walking through the door, carrying an armful of present and an armful of camera gear, I was accosted by some random child who ran up at me and punched the present and ran away. I suppose it was a good thing that both of my arms were occupied... Chuck E Cheese should just be marketed as selling one monstrous headache for people over the age of 7...

Jackie and Darcy's engagement photography session

Wow, this post was a bit late... nearly a month ago we took Jackie and Darcy to Griesbach (I swear if I keep taking pictures there, someone will just give me a house there, right?) to do their engagement session. They were tons of fun and brightened up the drab landscape (someone really must have stolen the leaves) and their photos turned out wonderfully. Laurier Park with Janice, Jason and Alora

This past Saturday, October 20, 2007, was spent in Laurier Park with Janice, Jason and Alora, snapping some great photos on the chilly weather. We started the morning watching Alora make friends with all of the birds - I'm still surprised by how close they were willing to get to people! At one point, a small army had swooped down upon us - I think they just wanted to be in the photos too.
It seems that Autumn was being uncooperative with us since there were almost no leaves to be found. Luckily this fabulous family is colorful enough on their own, and they didn't need the leaves to make them pretty.
We worked our way around the park and I am still shocked at how Jason was able to climb huge trees (you might not be able to tell from the photos, but the lowest branches were 8-9 feet from the ground and he didn't need a boost).

I swear someone stole the leaves - Griesbach Part 3

Last Sunday, October 7th, we headed off to Griesbach one last time to take advantage of the beautiful red leaves. We were lucky in that the temperatures were in the upper teens and Christine and her daughter Achaila joined us to bask in the sun. We were on a hunt to find the red leaves that lined 97th St, but they somehow mysteriously disappeared. By disappeared, I don't mean that the leaves fell and were now a glorious blanket of red over the grass - no. The leaves were gone entirely! It was like someone came in and raked up every last trace of that red gold and was hording it somewhere! We were out of luck. That didn't dampen our spirits as we took full advantage of the lake and the other pretty trees in the area.
Christine and Achaila were a dream to shoot - they were fun, adventurous, and the camera loved them both, that was fairly obvious. They were so much fun that I was even convinced to climb a tree as well, something I haven't done in a good 20 years. Griesbach: The Sequel (with the Robinsons)

Last Saturday was a busy day - busy, but productive. Whilst shooting my sister and Richard, we were joined by Denise, Randy and Tessa (flower girl extraordinaire) for more fun photos in the pretty leaves at Griesbach. They were an agreeable bunch and were willing to run around and play for me while I snapped away. The photos turned out fabulously, if I do say so myself... not that I was surprised... I knew they'd look terrific!

Autumn leaves at Griesbach with Trisha and Richard

This past Saturday I headed off to my favourite neighbourhood in Edmonton - the one I will someday live in when I become ridiculously wealthy (in my dreams). The glorious neighbourhood is Griesbach and I had a great time shooting my sister and her husband there. This area seems to be one of a few spots in Edmonton where the leaves actually turn red! It's a popular spot - it seems at any time you can drive by and there are at least four photographers there with families taking pictures.
We were lucky that day and not many other people were around while we were shooting. We had the opportunity to take full advantage of the fabulous colour and I even managed to get my pregnant sister to semi-climb a tree for me. She was always the photogenic child and the pictures turned out well... there's a reason why she is on one side of the lens and why I cling to the other...
