Edmonton boudoir marathon – January 22 – 24, 2010 at boutique hotel

It’s that time again! La Coquette – Boudoir by ENV Photography is hosting another ever-popular boudoir marathon at the Metterra Hotel from January 22-24, 2010.

Special session fee of $350 for a 1 hour session and 25 fully retouched hi-res files. If you wanted more retouched files (50 in total), add $125 (the regular session and file fee).

A $50 retainer is required to secure your spot which can be paid by cash, cheque, money order, paypal or interac money transfer.

I do suggest having your makeup done by a professional, and there are many salons on Whyte that offer that service. You can really see the difference that professional make up makes in the final images.

On the day of your shoot, be sure to wear loose-fitting clothing as to not have any red marks on your skin from too-tight jeans, etc. Helps make for better photos!

If you need suggestions on what to wear, please e-mail and I’ll be happy to help! A pair of killer heels is a must – the kind that aren’t meant to be walked in!

Free RING SHOT marathon, chez moi on Sunday, March 22, 2009

It may or or may not be obvious by now, but I love engagement and wedding rings! I love them so much that I am obsessed with photographing them!

To fuel my obsession, I am offering a FREE ring shot session at my home on Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 10 am to 4 pm. I will need about 15 minutes of your time while I work my magic on your rings to produce a work of art! Check out the posting on bride.ca about my ring shots. They called them stunning!

While you are waiting, my army of four cats will be sure to entertain while you enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and something to nibble on. I will also have a certified wedding planner on site for you chat with and keep you company while I photograph your rings. Not a bad deal, hey??

So, you might be wondering what's in it for you? Well, I will provide the hi-res files with permission to print of the best shots from your session and a 5x7 print of your favourite photograph, and that's it! Your ring shot could be used for your Save The Date cards, as placeholders at the reception, etc.

Please do bring along any items or props with esthetic or sentimental value that you would like to have in the composition of your rings. I will, of course, have lots of other items to use as well.

***Please be advised that I do have 4 lovely cats, so if you do have allergies, you can still do the shoot, but I'm not sure how much fun it will be to hang out on the porch!

Kittens Part 4: Count Olaf

Olaf makes up the remainder of the Second edition with his biological sister Violet. We got Violet and Olaf in June of 2006 from 4 Paws, as a result of an animal rescue. Olaf is the ninja cat. He doesn't like being picked up and his furry little body contorts into some weird positions. Of course, his resistance to snuggling makes us want to hug him ever more. Olaf likes to join you in the shower and sit between the tub and the shower curtain when the water is on so he gets his paws wet. He is a stealthy snuggler, and has been found sleeping with us at night, but, of course, when we wake up and notice him, he runs away quickly!

Kittens Part 3: Violet

Violet is our one and only little girl cat. She is most definitely a princess. Violet and her biological brother Olaf make up the Second edition. Violet came to us by way of animal rescue. We believe she was a farm cat and that is way she is crazy about hunting her toy mice. She is also known as the furry alarm clock - especially on days when we can sleep in, she makes a point of insistantly meowing in our ears to wake us up. She is difficult to capture, will tolerate hugging on occaision and loves to sleep in high up places where we can't reach her!

Kittens Part 2: Klaus

Klaus is our furry grey kitten mouse. He is Sunny's biological brother, and together, my sister refers to them as the first edition. Klaus particularly enjoys sleeping sideways in the middle of our bed, he has a bit of an ear fetish and tries to lick yours when you are too tired to fight him off and he looooves honeysuckle. He's also a water kitty and will sit with you in the shower. Unlike Sunny, Klaus has filled out his kitten suit very well!

The van der Bij household is a fun and furry place. We have four darling kitties and the world revolves around them! They permit us to live here, and in exchange we have to throw sparkle balls, brush them, let them hog the centre of our bed as we cling to the edges...

Of course, we wouldn't trade it for the world. The is nothing better than a warm and furry kitty hug! Sunny is one of our four darlings affectionately named after Lemony Snicket's characters. We have had Sunny and his biological brother Klaus since August 2005 since they were itty bitty kitties. Sunny enjoys posing for the camera, so he was easy to capture... I imagine Klaus will be the next willing participant, and then I will have to bribe Violet and Olaf to pose for me...

Anyway, here's Sunny in his slightly-too-large stripey cat suit!

Beautiful Baby - My Neice Bella

My neice, Isabella, will be turning 1 in two weeks. Crazy how quickly the time has flown and how much she has grown and changed in such a short period of time. How strange it was to see her coming flying out in cannonball-style (seriously, she just shot out unassisted - strangest thing I have ever seen) and now to see her greet me with a big toothy smile and her patented princess wave! I'm so happy to be her Auntie!

Here's just one shot from a visit at our house the other day. She wasn't in the mood for photos, and not even of bottle of Betsy Johnson perfume to play with could hold her still long enough for me to get more than a few shots. Of course, duct tape was out of the question since Mommy was watching ;)

Today Carley and I spent the afternoon setting up my booth at Bridal Fantasy. Thanks to the muscle (Derek, Cody, Shaun, Fred & Carley) for carrying in the big stuff too! Winter Wonderland in Edmonton - Whyte Ave post-bridal photography

This past weekend, I ventured off to Ice on Whyte with Jules and Steve. They got married last June in Nova Scotia and I convicnced them to do a winter shoot with me while the weather was warm! Of course, it was so warm that it melted and ruined the awesome Ice castle that I wanted to photograph them in, so we worked our way around the area taking other great winter shots instead! So, today wasn't a great day. In fact, it's been one of the worst that I've had in a while. That all changed, however, once I got home to find 4 new canvasses on my porch, fresh and waiting for Bridal Fantasy (not even 2 weeks away!), 2 boxes of my kickass new postcards (also for Bridal Fantasy) and an e-mail in my inbox from bride.ca with a posting that they just did showing my love of ring shots! Yay! That made it all better! Now, I must get my hands on more gorgeous rings, just to take photos, of course...

Kara's boudoir photography session in Edmonton!

My friend Kara was in town for the holidays and we had a chance to play around with my new Canon 5D Mk II!! Naturally, we chose to do some boudoir. My bedroom never looked so good, and the bathroom, being newly reno'ed (and looking awesome) worked out to be a great spot for a few shots. I am in looooove with all of the bathtub shots, they are even more fantastic than I first pictured them to be.

So, you may or may not know, but I am terrified of babies, newborns especially because I am afraid that I will hurt them because they are so little. I was afraid to hold my niece for a few weeks when she was born. It took me months to really get comfortable. Now, of course, it's not problem, but that's because she has passed the teeny tiny baby stage.

Patricia just recently gave birth to teeny tiny little Anakin (not long after we did her smokin' hot Belly Boudoir photos (no, I won't be sharing those!)) and despite being frightened, I joined Patricia and Blake at home with Anakin to do a little photo shoot. I believe Anakin was 10 days old in these photos! So little, but very co-operative, so maybe babies aren't that scary... He's awfully cute though! Here's just a few from the session and a big congratulations!

Attack of the killer stomach flu!

The never ending reno story...

It's been so long, about 6 weeks, since I've been able to have a bath in my home. It's an old house, WWI era, so only one bathroom. Over a year since we first signed a contract to have it gutted and re-done, and consequently having the contractor go under and take thousands of dollars of our money, we are now getting to reno the bathroom ourselves. I am not very handy. I have a great eye for design, but I have lacklustre carpentry skills. My husband, however, we have discovered, is really quite good at this when he has some help and is given direction. We are getting close to the end. No more staying in hotels while we have no toilet, no more brushing our teeth in the kitchen sink, no more travelling to my sister's place on a regular basis to get showers... I am so excited. How we managed to use that awful bathroom for three years is a mystery to me! Damn hippie undersea adventure with scary animals painted on the wall that watch you when you pee... gone! Awful 1970's yellow tub... GONE! It's almost time for the unveiling... and then I can go have a bath and wander around my house wearing a towel for as long as I want because I can! No more getting dressed right after a shower because we aren't at home! It's so close!!

Playing with water at the Devonian Gardens

I had some fun photographing flowers and rocks (yes, the former aspiring geologist in me is still fascinated with rocks), but I was really enjoying the small brook and mini waterflls in the garden. On Saturday, Sept 20, 2008, I ventured off to Westlock with my sister, Tricka, (Trisha to the rest of the world) as my trusty sidekick to photograph Tracy and Ryan's beautiful wedding. The ceremony was beautiful and we got to have the run of Tracy's family's acreage to do all of the fun photos. While I stole Tracy and Ryan away for a couples shoot, Tricka had a blast with the rest of the wedding party! As always, here's a few until the slideshow is ready...

Round one of Finao samples - wow! Best wedding photography albums ever!

Today I finally got the chance to get to the post office to pick up my first shipment from Finao. I though the albums looked nice when I saw them online, but ohmygod, are they ever amazing in the flesh (leather, of course)! This is a sample of the album that is included in Emerald, Malachite and Peridot packages, and there are a gazillion options for colours, fabrics, etc.

Just look at how it is when it's all wrapped up!

The spine is nice, but there are a few bumps due to the nature of the binding, but I actually like the look. This is a 12x12 2-tone leather album in Idol Eyes and Aquadisiac. The leather feels fabulous and the colours are so pretty!

It's a flush mount album and I chose to cut the pages. Just look at how straight the pages line up and the binding looks great!

And look at the finish on the corner - perfect!

The cover of the book itself is fabulous, but I'm amazed by how beautiful my images look on the pages. The pages have a soft sheen and a smooth texture that I can't resist touching - and no fingerprints so far! I'm trying to show the surface texture, but it's showing the soft sheen more than anything. So no worries about passing the book around and letting everyone see! And look at how thick and sturdy the pages are!

In addition to the Finao ONE album, I also got a few Finao Elements samples, but we'll talk more about those later.

I'm also totally excited about the metal tins of swatch samples, so you can put your options side by side to create the perfect look! There's also cut out options for pictures on the cover, metal and glass covers, and so much more!

Frankie and Garth's engagement photography session on the very edge of Edmonton

On Saturday, August 30, 2008, I met Frankie and Garth in the early evening to do their e-session on a friend's acreage. I'm also super excited for their wedding next May... May is looking to be a fun-filled and action packed month!

It was a great spot with wide open spaces and some sweet vintage cars. Luckily we didn't get mowed down by the wild kids on ATVs, and we did make friends with an adorable kitty that followed us everywhere, successfully making it into quite a few shots... Frankie also has a ring that I adore...

Ack! I've been falling behind in my blogging! I met with Sandra and Evan on August 16, 2008 to do their engagement session - they are getting married next May and I am so super excited for their wedding! I know they were a little sceptical about the whole thing, but it turned out so well!

They were a blast to shoot, and I think they ended up having some fun and realized that having someone chase you around with a big camera can be kinda fun! I should mention that Sandra has the most gorgeous ring ever...

Melanie's awesome Trash the Dress photography session in Churchill Square - Edmonton

On a very hot August 15, 2008, I met up with Melanie and her husband Trevor and had an awesome Trash the Dress session. We hung out by my favourite warehouse, worked our way around 104 St and finally cooled off in the wading pool at Churchill Square. Melanie looked stunning and attracted quite a bit of attention, especially from the small army of children in the pool as well. So, on August 16th, 2008 I met up with some of the ladies from Treasured Memories to do a fun shoot for them to use on their website. We had a great time playing with scissors, and I even got to wrestle a few rings from their fingers... but more about those ring shots later!

The store is located at 5218 86 Street in Edmonton, and I will be buying my supplies there for my new price packaging - very excited about the design at that Juli has crafted for me! Just wait for pictures! Such pizzazz!

Sunday, August 10th was Portraits 2: The Engagement Files. It was a mini-engagement marathon that hosted by ENV Photography in downtown Edmonton. Eleven couples came out to play that day and all of the sessions were wonderful! I met a lot of fabulous people and took even better photos of them! On Saturday, July 12 I ventured off to Rundle Park to photograph an e-session with Chanell and Danny who are getting married next March. It's easy to see that they are absolutely smitten with each other! I'm sooo looking forward to photographing their wedding! Here's a few shots from the day!

Today was my niece's baptism at the beautiful Robertson-Wesley United church in downtown Edmonton. So, here we go!

1. I hate when people use elipses incorrectly (...)! It drives me crazy!
2. The ENV portion of ENV Photography stands for Elizabeth Nancy van der Bij - now you know my horrible middle name.
3. My favourite food in the whole world is dill pickles, seriously.
4. I am terrified of moose. I have nightmares about being chased up velcro trees by velcro moose. It's horrible!
5. I have a small army of cats (that I adore) named after the characters in the Lemony Snicket's series - Sunny, Klaus, Violet and Olaf.
6. My favourite movie ever is the Lost boys, with Monster Squad as a close second - 1987 was a good year!
7. Until I was 16, I wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up - glad that phase passed!

So i'm on a week of vacation from my regular day job, and you'd think i'd be super excited, except my honey is on tour with his band and I am left home alone to toil in my office in the basement. Yes, I'm getting work done and the army of cats are keeping me company, but it's weird to go to bed alone and wake up alone :( Four more sleeps 'til Derek comes back home!! I'm going to go talk to a wall now, or something...

Thank you to everyone that came out for Portraits in the Park this past Saturday! It was lots of fun, in spite of the lobster-like appearance I took on toward the end of the day due to the unrelenting sun. I met lots of great people and took lots of fabulous photos! Now, I just have to wade through them all for the final edits...

Since it did go so well, I think I will have another session, although it won't be all day because I am still pooped! I'm think the next one will be 4 hours with 16 15-minute sessions... now, this is where you all come in... Where should the next mini session be hosted? Juli's Trash the Dress session at Galaxyland

On April 2, 2008 we ventured off to Galaxyland to do Juli's TTD session. We were joined by some awesome people from CityTV and we were looking forward to a great session. I had called ahead to make sure all was well for the day for the shoot and to get permission to do it. Well, it turns out that the lady i talked to didn't bother to document it before she quit. Guess who got hassled and eventually kicked out of the park??? Luckily we got a few great shots before we were booted and finished up the shoot in a parking lot downtown on Jasper. Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful bride in beautiful dress on her 5 month wedding anniversary. Chantelle was a delight to photograph and was willing to help me live out my vision for a snowy Trash the Dress session. We wandered around the Cloverdale neighbourhood where she played with a snowman, made snow angels, had a snowball fight with some kids and went tobogganing! It was a blast and I am in awe of how the photos turned out! Absolutely stunning!

So I've been out of commission for a month or so because of the stupid gall bladder - got my first IV ever on Jan 31, followed by my second on Feb 1st when I was re-admitted to the hospital. I have to admit, the morphine certainly helps make the pain go away. I finally got surgery to have the evil gall bladder removed this past Monday (the 11th) and am now attempting to heal so I will be functional again soon! In the meantime, while unable to do much in terms of photographs, I have had fun spending money on new lenses while I've been laid up... woohoo! Don't worry, I won't post any photos of the scars, although I wish they had given me the gall bladder so I could throw it at a wall or squish it somehow to show it how I feel about it!

Maternity session with Sarah & Josh

On New Year's Day, Sarah and Josh came over to do a maternity session maybe only 12 hours after leaving from the New Year's Eve party the night before. We all may have been a little sleepy still, but I don't think you can tell. This shoot was a great deal of fun and they were willing to do just about anything! I couldn't have asked for better subjects. Just look at how pretty and colourful they are! Christmas Eve with Lisa & Anthony - Stony Plain wedding

Downtown with the Franco family

Yesterday (Dec 9), I spent sometime downtown photographing the Francos and their extended family in their cute matching scarves. We actually started off in the lobby where I work during the week (It was a bit of a pain trying to remove the Meloche Monnex and TD Insurance logos from the background of the pictures) because the tree was just fabulous. We moved out into Churchill Square and ventured into City Hall to snap a few more photos. The weather had finally warmed up a bit, but I think we all had pretty rosy cheeks by the end of it... Owen turns 2 at Chuck E Cheese (pure insanity)

On November 10th, I spent the afternoon at Chuck E Cheese celebrating Owen's 2nd birthday. He's lucky he's such an adorable child, because I nearly had a breakdown in that place and was surprised that I managed to get any good photos at all. That was the first, and last, time I have ever gone to such an establishment. Walking through the door, carrying an armful of present and an armful of camera gear, I was accosted by some random child who ran up at me and punched the present and ran away. I suppose it was a good thing that both of my arms were occupied... Chuck E Cheese should just be marketed as selling one monstrous headache for people over the age of 7...

Laurier Park with Janice, Jason and Alora

This past Saturday, October 20, 2007, was spent in Laurier Park with Janice, Jason and Alora, snapping some great photos on the chilly weather. We started the morning watching Alora make friends with all of the birds - I'm still surprised by how close they were willing to get to people! At one point, a small army had swooped down upon us - I think they just wanted to be in the photos too.
It seems that Autumn was being uncooperative with us since there were almost no leaves to be found. Luckily this fabulous family is colorful enough on their own, and they didn't need the leaves to make them pretty.
We worked our way around the park and I am still shocked at how Jason was able to climb huge trees (you might not be able to tell from the photos, but the lowest branches were 8-9 feet from the ground and he didn't need a boost).

I swear someone stole the leaves - Griesbach Part 3

Last Sunday, October 7th, we headed off to Griesbach one last time to take advantage of the beautiful red leaves. We were lucky in that the temperatures were in the upper teens and Christine and her daughter Achaila joined us to bask in the sun. We were on a hunt to find the red leaves that lined 97th St, but they somehow mysteriously disappeared. By disappeared, I don't mean that the leaves fell and were now a glorious blanket of red over the grass - no. The leaves were gone entirely! It was like someone came in and raked up every last trace of that red gold and was hording it somewhere! We were out of luck. That didn't dampen our spirits as we took full advantage of the lake and the other pretty trees in the area.
Christine and Achaila were a dream to shoot - they were fun, adventurous, and the camera loved them both, that was fairly obvious. They were so much fun that I was even convinced to climb a tree as well, something I haven't done in a good 20 years. Griesbach: The Sequel (with the Robinsons)

Last Saturday was a busy day - busy, but productive. Whilst shooting my sister and Richard, we were joined by Denise, Randy and Tessa (flower girl extraordinaire) for more fun photos in the pretty leaves at Griesbach. They were an agreeable bunch and were willing to run around and play for me while I snapped away. The photos turned out fabulously, if I do say so myself... not that I was surprised... Autumn leaves at Griesbach with Trisha and Richard

This past Saturday I headed off to my favourite neighbourhood in Edmonton - the one I will someday live in when I become ridiculously wealthy (in my dreams). The glorious neighbourhood is Griesbach and I had a great time shooting my sister and her husband there. This area seems to be one of a few spots in Edmonton where the leaves actually turn red! It's a popular spot - it seems at any time you can drive by and there are at least four photographers there with families taking pictures.
We were lucky that day and not many other people were around while we were shooting. We had the opportunity to take full advantage of the fabulous colour and I even managed to get my pregnant sister to semi-climb a tree for me. She was always the photogenic child and the pictures turned out well... there's a reason why she is on one side of the lens and why I cling to the other...

Post-wedding wheat field frolicking

So as the day was winding down, our bride and groom were too tired for more photos... However, Juli and Rowan were up for a quick run through the wheat filed across the highway (probably private property... but we weren't chased out by angry farmers, so all is well). The sun was still pretty high and were we hoping for an early sunset (for some reason, it just didn't happen) but the photos were fun anyway! Pretty in Pink - The Wedding!

This past Saturday (September 15th), I dragged myself out of bed and left the house at 8: 30 to go pick up Juli (wedding planner extrordinaire in the making) and we headed off to the West end to help/photograph Jennifer get ready for her big day. Two of the bridesmaids were there for a short time while the dresses were getting steamed but they somehow managed to sneak off without getting photographed. Luckily the darling flower girl and extra adorable ring bearer were around to keep me busy. Dominic was so excited by the camera that whenever I seemed to point it his way, he would run straight at me with a big grin on his face. Lizzy also seemed fond of the camera and did a great job twirling for me out in the yard while everyone else was getting ready.

Jennifer had a lovely pink strapless corset back dress that was fabulous to photograph - we were even lucky enough to get to photograph her being strapped in by her Mom and then watched as Lizzy helped complete the jewellery. We quickly rushed off to the church (and only 10 minutes late, so not bad - not like it could start without Jennifer anyway!)
The ceremony was lovely, although I believe Dominic snoozed through a good part of it. Afterwards, we headed off to Jackie Parker Park for the formal pictures with Jennifer and Dirk, swiftly followed by the remainder of the wedding party.

The day was perfect - sunny skies, not too hot and the leaves were just starting to change. The group was easy to photograph and quite agreeable to work with - always pleasant! The park was a great place to photograph and I believe I will use it again in the future.

After the photos, we were off to the reception in south Edmonton at the Scottish Society. We did some big group shots outside and then watched the kids dance up a storm. There was lots of pink, which always makes me happy, especially when paired with black - can't go wrong there. It was a beautiful day with plenty of lovely pictures...

Owen at the Park

Earlier today, I joined my sister, Trisha, her good friend Jane, and Jane's son Owen at the community park near Kingsway Mall in central Edmonton. We ran around in the sand at the park and I captured bunches of fabulous pictures of Owen - of course, seeing how cute he is, it wasn't difficult to do.
He was a little hard to keep up with, but when I could, I got some great photographs (as well as pound of sand in each shoe - not so comfy). He was getting difficult to follow, but I think he thought it was a game - it's not often that you get chased by some big black flashing object. Some of the best photos were the ones in the swings - where he couldn't get away! The cutest part was getting him to look my way. Jane would say to him "Where's Beth?", and he'd look my way, but would point at the same - every time. Too cute! I think he had the best time the springy butterfly - he kept going back to it, even though we tried out a few other pieces of equipment. Can't blame him though, it did seem like a lot of fun to wiggle around in it.

Yesterday I ventured off to the Muttart to photograph Tessa, the darling princess who just so happened to be the flower girl in my recent wedding. Between cloud bursts, she raced around the slippery grounds (miraculously, without falling) at the Muttart and I managed to capture her in the exceptionally photogenic flowers and hanging from trees. She was a fabulous subject to photograph -and had no problem ignoring me with the camera as she found neat things to look at. Admittedly, I prefer the pictures that were taken outdoors as opposed to the ones inside. A wedding was being photographed at the same times we were there and Tessa was a little jealous that they didn't pick her to be the flower girl!
My favourite pictures are the ones when she decided to dance for us - she's a great little dancer. The second favourites are the jumping pictures - I love the look of flying hair, especially with children! She was quite a trooper despite the blisters she developed from jumping around in her spiffy new shoes. Check out the slide show for the day at www.envphotography.com/tessa/

Labour Day long weekend in Fairmont, BC

Last weekend, my husband and I joined a friend at their timeshare in Fairmont, BC. We managed to get out out of work early and set off around 2 pm towards British Columbia. The drive wasn't bad, but we had the unfortunate luck of hitting Calgary right at rush hour... nothing like being stuck in an over-sized snail race. Of course, it was worth the wait as we got closer to Banff. Boy, you sort of forget how big the mountains are when you don't see them often. The drive through was pleasant, although somewhat speedy - we were driving about 140 km/h and were still being passed left, right, and center. Driving into Radium was fabulous and quick peek at the hot springs as we drove by certainly made the long drive worthwhile.

Now, we thought we had good directions, and seeing that Fairmont is such a small town, we thought there would be no problem finding the villa - we were wrong! We got a pretty good tour of the town before we finally fit our destination. The villa is on the side of a mountain in the middle of a golf course - silly us for not spotting it right away!
We ended the night with a fabulous BBQ and a few rounds of mojitos... perfect way to end the night.

The next day we headed off to the Fairmont Hot Springs for some hiking and picture taking. I got my best photos on this day. The weather was fabulous and there were swarms of people everywhere. We decided to not partake in the public hot springs, but were content with the spring-fed pool and hot tubs back at the townhouse.
The rest of the weekend was uneventful - mainly consisting of BBQ, more mojitos, hot-tubbing and a lot of sleeping in - oh, the power of the mountain air.

We were sad to leave on Monday, but had to get back to our 4 darling kittens who surely missed us dearly. The drive back was better and I also managed to get some photos along the way (not while driving, of course!). I definitely suggest a stay in Fairmont, despite it being golfer's paradise with 14 golf courses in the area, it does have some good things going for it! I can't wait to go back and visit again!

A whole lot of duck poop... and some really cute kids!

So yesterday, we (that being Amy and myself) ventured off to photograph some really cute kids. We got lost (well, actually, I got lost - damn Wal-mart for getting in the way and getting me all confused with the streets) and I overshot our destination by a few kilometres, but we still managed to make it on time without having to do a whole lot of off-roading.

We were photographing a co-worker's son and her niece, along with the little girl's parents, and I did manage to sneak a few shots of Sukjit by herself (my gosh, she is just gorgeous).

We started off at a pond in their neighbourhood, but didn't notice the overwhelming amounts of duck poop surrounding the pond until we were down in it. It would have been nice if the ducks had stayed around for a bit after making such a mess... it totally ruled out any images of the kids rolling down the hill... would have been very dirty... ick... But we forged on and got some really cute pictures.

Next stop was a pretty field beside the East Indian Temple (I think I got the name right). We took pictures in the field, but that didn't last too long as it was pretty prickley with all the thistles.. so we moved over to the temple and took advange of the gorgeous building and the huge expanse of concrete out front.

The final stop was another field with cool trees on our journey to find an old junkyard. We weren't successful in finding the junkyard, but the new clearing served us well. We got a tonne of pictures that day
